Roadrunners Alternate Logo

The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners have a long and storied history of athletic success. From their NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament appearance in 2017 to the multiple conference championships they've won across all sports, the Roadrunners are one of the top programs in college athletics. Along with this success on the field, court or diamond comes an equally impressive array of alternate logos that have been used over time to represent CSUB athletics.

The first iteration came back in 1972 when a cartoon roadrunner was introduced as part of CSUB’s brand identity system; it featured an orange-and-black color scheme along with two crossed baseball bats behind its head for added effect. This logo remained unchanged until 1996 when it was modified slightly by adding three stars above its head—a nod to both California state pride and school spirit—as well as more vibrant colors throughout its design elements.

In 2009, another update occurred which saw yet another new look for CSUB’s mascot: a sleek black silhouette featuring blue accents around his eyes and beak plus white outlines around his body parts gave him a modernized feel while still retaining much of what made him so recognizable from before (including those same two crossed baseball bats). The latest version debuted just last year and includes even more detailed artwork than ever before; here you can find everything from feathers on his wings to claw marks etched into each footpad!

In addition to these various iterations we've seen over time, there is also an official “Roadrunner Head” logo that has become synonymous with Cal State Bakersfield Athletics since being adopted back in 2004 – this features just what you would expect: our beloved bird's head surrounded by text reading “Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners". Each version brings something unique while maintaining recognition amongst fans old & new alike - making them perfect representations not only for teams but also alumni & supporters everywhere who proudly show off their love for all things Runners!1
